Although my regular commuting days are a fading memory, I still attend a Sacramento meeting now and then, and occasionally travel through the early morning darkness until greeted by the sunrise -- usually when crossing Altamont Pass into the San Joaquin Valley. I love to see that pre-dawn orange glow even when it suddenly appears on the horizon and fades just as quickly.
The wind generators located on the ridge turn lazily as they mix the colors from red to orange, then yellow, and finally blue. In a few minutes I'll turn off my headlights, put on sun glasses, and stash the camera. But Mother Nature’s distraction made my early morning commute a breeze!
