SUPERVISING TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER, CALTRANS, RETIRED
I retired in 2005 after 41 years with the California Department of Transportation working in all phases of highway design and construction, hydraulics, funding, program administration, training, and supervision. In retirement I continue to travel throughout the state teaching transportation funding and development procedures to cities and counties through training courses administered by Cal State University, Sacramento. Most of my state career was in the Office of Local Assistance, where I supervised over 120 engineers, technicians, and staff delivering transportation grants in the San Francisco Bay region. Prior to that I served as Senior and Associate transportation engineer developing a variety of state highway projects ranging from planning and design to final construction.
